Winter Camp in the City is a one-day outdoor experience for school aged children in grades 6-8. The program is taking place from Monday, January 26 to Friday, January 30, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The program offers six outdoor and indoor activities. This year’s activities at Winter Camp in the City are Maple Taffy Making, Kick Sledding, Meewasin Interpretive Indoor Games, Snowshoeing, and an Ice Climbing Wall! Stay tuned for a new activity being introduced to Winter Camp in the City in the New Year!

Maple Taffy Making: Students will learn how to prepare and cool maple taffy.

Kick Sledding: A kicksled is a small sled with a chair mounted on top of two flexible runners. It is propelled by someone standing behind the chair and kicking it forward. Students will get to try kicksledding on a small obstacle course.

Meewasin Interpretive Indoor Games: Meewasin will be leading students in a variety of indoor and interpretive games.

Snowshoeing: Students will learn how to put on snowshoes correctly, and Wanuskewin will be leading student in a short snowshoe trail.
